See why each reviewer is recommended, inside ScholarOne Manuscripts
Prophy's Referee Finder runs inside ScholarOne. Each recommendation carries its reasoning: semantic proximity to the manuscript, conflict-of-interest flags derived from co-authorship and co-affiliation history, and the candidate's own publication record.

The integration
Referee Finder, where your editors already work
The workflow lives where editors already work. Prophy's Referee Finder is available inside ScholarOne, so reviewer search becomes part of handling the manuscript.
- Search inside ScholarOne. Reviewer search happens in the system your editors already use. The editor reviews the candidates and decides.
- Every recommendation shows its reasoning. Semantic proximity to the manuscript, conflict-of-interest flags from co-authorship and co-affiliation history, and the candidate's own publication record, shown with the name.
- Found in minutes, with contact details in hand. Editors are rarely short of names. They are short of the right names: unconflicted and reachable.

A wider, explainable, conflict-checked pool
Why editorial teams add Prophy to ScholarOne.
For editorial departments that need high-quality peer reviewers quickly, Prophy provides access to a larger, well-organized pool of expert reviewers, drawn from 60M+ author profiles.
Co-authorship and co-affiliation conflicts are detected as candidates are surfaced, so the integrity check happens inline and not after the invitation has gone out.
The same engine runs grant review for national and international funding agencies, where a reviewer recommendation has to survive an appeal. That is why Prophy shows the reasoning behind each recommendation instead of summarizing it.
Prophy reads each manuscript against its own ontology of scientific concepts, rather than matching keywords or querying a general-purpose index.
A Silverchair Universe program partner
Prophy's Referee Finder is available to ScholarOne Manuscripts clients through the Silverchair Universe program. Silverchair is the leading independent platform partner for scholarly and professional publishers.
Finding qualified, available reviewers has become one of the biggest bottlenecks in peer review. Through Prophy's Universe program integration, ScholarOne publishers have a highly targeted and useful tool in addressing this challenge, alleviating a significant burden on editors.

The full view
The full Referee Finder view, one click away
From the manuscript in ScholarOne, editors can open the same search in Referee Finder itself. That opens the complete candidate list for the manuscript, with everything an editor needs to refine it.
- Conflict checks you can see. Co-authorship and shared affiliations are flagged against the manuscript's authors (the last five years by default, adjustable), and so are retracted articles.
- Filters editors use. h-index, academic age, article count, journal impact factor, countries, and concept groups you can boost or ignore.
- Your own reviewer pool. Upload your reviewer database as an author group to search within it or highlight its members, and save the settings you reuse.
Change gender, location, experience level, and broadness of expertise of proposed referees.
See Referee Finder inside your ScholarOne workflow.
We'll run Prophy on one of your own manuscripts and show the recommendations, with their reasoning, where your editors already work.
How it works
Contact
Ask us, or your ScholarOne account manager, about turning on Prophy.
Enable in ScholarOne
ScholarOne support turns on the connection, and your site administrator adds Prophy as a reviewer-suggestion provider.
Connect your journals
Your administrator connects the journals you choose, or we do it for you.
Reviewers in ScholarOne
Candidates arrive with their reasoning, and the editor decides.
One of the systems editors already run
Alongside ScholarOne Manuscripts, Prophy's Referee Finder works with Aries Editorial Manager and eJournalPress, and there is an API for in-house systems.
Questions editors ask
How do we switch it on?
Ask us or your ScholarOne account manager. ScholarOne support turns on the connection, your site administrator adds Prophy as a reviewer-suggestion provider, and your journals are connected, by your administrator or by us. We confirm the specifics for your setup during onboarding.
Do editors need a Prophy account?
Not to see the recommendations, which appear in ScholarOne itself. To open the full Referee Finder view, editors sign in with their own Prophy account, and we send each editor an invitation during onboarding.
How many candidates does an editor see?
Prophy sends 15 ranked candidates for each manuscript, and ScholarOne shows them 10 per page.
How is manuscript data handled, and do you train on it?
Your data belongs to you, and you can delete it at any time or set up lifecycle rules. We also don't train any models on your data.
Is this the same Referee Finder as the standalone tool?
Yes. It is the same Referee Finder and the same matching engine, available inside ScholarOne, with each recommendation carrying its reasoning.
Do you integrate with anything besides ScholarOne?
Yes. Aries Editorial Manager and eJournalPress, and we have an API with detailed documentation, if you want to integrate with an in-house EMS.
How defensible is the conflict-of-interest output?
Every reviewer choice carries the co-authorship / co-affiliation basis behind the flag, so the integrity check is auditable rather than a black box.
